We aware of the fact that our oceans are valuable resources that we need to manage carefully. Many of the world’s fish stocks are disappearing from our seas, because they have been overfished or harvested using damaging fishing practices. To keep our favourite seafood plentiful for us to enjoy and to keep it around for future generations, we must act now.

As a fishing company, Oceanfresh realises that it can play a positive role in promoting more sustainable use of fish stocks by supporting responsible fishing practices. Oceanfresh has engaged with WWF’s Southern African Sustainable Seafood Initiative (SASSI) in order to evaluate the sustainability and traceability of our seafood product range, to ensure that we are accountable for all products on offer, and to provide you, the consumer, with all the necessary information needed to enable you to make environmentally sensitive seafood choices. Oceanfresh encourages you to consult the information provided by WWF and SASSI on sustainable seafood choices.

WWF Responsible Fisheries Programme and Ocean Fresh are working together to develop and implement responsible fishing practices for their prawn fishing operations in Mozambique.
